Sometimes life gets tough. Coping with money, family, employers, with officialdom, even just getting through the day can be an ordeal. When you come to Music Vision you have the chance - indeed you are expected to - leave your troubles at the door. They'll be quite safe - no-one ever stole someone else's problems. Have a day off from being you! We aim to make each other feel respected and valued, and to join together to produce music for a few hours. If you need someone to talk to in confidence however, we can provide this, though we don't offer professional advice or guidance, just a friendly ear. Remember that respect and courtesy are expected from everyone taking part in our workshops. Joining is easy - just come along to The Currock Community Centre, Lediard Avenue, Carlisle on any Wednesday during school term time between 10.30 and 3.30 pm. You will be very welcome to join in or simply to check us out. If you love music but don't feel comfortable yet with singing or playing on stage, there are lots of things that we would love your help with; for instance, we need help with publicity, fund raising, setting up and dismantling equipment safely and securely, recording, setting out furntiure for workshops, making tea and coffee and keeping records. All these activities help you to build your confidence and we believe, help you to feel refreshed and able to look at issues more objectively. |
